BP Municipal Council Recognizes Rescuers

On November 13, 2017, the Bethel Park Municipal Council recognized officers of the Bethel Park Police Department and Paramedics of Tri-Community South EMS, a Bethel Park family, and the family dog for the successful resuscitation of a Bethel Park resident from Cardiac Arrest. It was a complete team effort, from the dog who alerted the family to the emergency by persistent barking, to the family who placed the call for help quickly, to the police telecommunications officer who instructed the family in what to do until help arrived, to the police officers and paramedics who performed the resuscitation, to the emergency room staff who continued the care, to the cath team and physician who performed the surgery to open the blocked blood vessel in the heart. Every link in the Chain of Survival was there: Early Recognition, Early CPR, Early Defibrillation, and Early Advanced Care.
